Irving Kriesberg, Father and Son, 1978, oil on canvas, 44 x 48 in (111.8 x 121.9 cm).

Irving Kriesberg, Father and Son, 1978, oil on canvas, 44 x 48 in (111.8 x 121.9 cm).

Father and Son is an oil painting from 1978, featuring a variation on Kriesberg's signature 'Walker' figures striding across the picture plane against a colorful medallion of paint. The imagery depicts a father looking over his son. The father is portrayed to resemble Kriesberg's recurring owl character, who often appears as a guardian among Kriesberg's coterie of fantastical creatures.
